Hey There
Here is a poem that I wrote. It is the introduction to my poem book and an insight into my life. In this poem, you will see the conversation between one's subconscious and reality. while something may not appear one way to you, it is something completely different to the person experiencing it.
Should I Stay Shut? By: Alexandra Pabon
"You don't know what pain feels like."

It doesn't really have perfect timing,
Like a semi-truck going full speed down a highway.
Complete gas with a roaring engine,
Losing control, no seatbelt, just pure devastation.

"You're too young to know what depression feels like."

Now you're suffocating in the collapse truck,
Flipped upside down trying to escape as the blood is in a rush.
Searching for an image through the blurry haze,
Yet darkness consumes you, it whispers, "you're going to be okay."

"You're being dramatic."

It's wrapped around you nice and tight like a scarf that keeps you warm at night,
You settled down, knowing you couldn't win this fight.
Not feeling anything, yet feeling it all,
The truck explodes, your body and all.

"It's not that serious."

Your body now covers the entire road,
like a ceramic plate that was thrown to the floor.
Pieces that can no longer be placed together,
That's how it feels when emotions are tickling you like feathers.
